Where I Come From is my best book so far. (At least that’s what my momma says, and who am I to argue with my 89-year-old mother?)

I poured my heart and soul into it for nine months, and it’s “been born,” and I’m incredibly proud of it.

  1. Raymond and Bonnie Burnette

    Good morning, Curt,
My name is Bonnie Burnette. My husband is Raymond Burnette who is the sole surviving son of L. A. Burnette who was originally from Oberlin.
Completely by accident ,about three years ago, we found out that
    L. A. was the biological son of Leslie Augustus (Gus) Stockwell. We live in Bancroft smack dab in No Man’s Land. I know you have a hectic schedule but if you ever have some free time we would love to meet you and sit down and talk.
    Sincerely, Bonnie Burnette

    • Bonnie,

I am thrilled to hear from you. I’m aware of our Stockwell/Burnette connection. My Aunt JoAnn Iles Edwards is our family genealogist in our family. She and my deceased dad (Clayton Iles) are (half) first cousins. I want to connect and meet. Contact me (text) at (318) 623-3778 or Creekbank.net. r
